I am inspired by real-life successes in wildlife rehabilitation and ecosystem regeneration. I write fiction and non-fiction books for children that feature animal rescues, rainforests, and urban wildlife.
During the day, I am an elementary school principal in New York City. As an educator, helping kids discover books they love is one of my favorite things to do. If I get them hooked on a series, even better! As an author, I write to inspire young readers to care for our planet and for each other.
When I am not at school, or at home writing or researching a new story, I journey off to beaches, mountains and rainforests any chance I get. I am originally from Takoma Park, Maryland and have lived in Mexico, Chile and Costa Rica.
I am represented by Joyce Sweeney at The Seymour Agency.
